How Busy Am I? (Part II)

I am busier than a one-armed paper hanger in a windstorm…

Busier than a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs…

Busier than a mosquito in a nudist colony…

Busier than a cross-eyed air-traffic controller…

Busier than a one-toothed man in a corn-on-the-cob eating contest…

You get the picture…

The summer is rushing by and I feel as though I haven’t gotten a lot of down time. In a lot of areas in my life, I feel like I am chasing my tail!

The day job has been a lot nuttier lately, and not in a good way. Enough said…

A freak summer storm last month caused a small waterfall to come in through a basement window. The carpet in the family room was a loss, but thankfully we didn’t lose any furniture. So unplanned time, money and energy was spent there.Work has gotten a bit nuttier than usual, and not in a good way.

A diabetes diagnosis for an elderly rescue cat we have has led to the unexpected expense and stress of twice daily insulin injections. This has definitely added to our little furry girl’s stress level, too, and to show me just how stressed she was, she bit my hand. Two trips to the ER, two days in a row, for IV antibiotics, oral antibiotics, a sling, and the threat of being admitted. Ok, Bebop… I get it. You don’t like being harrassed, but we are only doing it becasue we love you!

Last month, I started teaching a workshop for continuing education credits for the AAPC. It has taken me out of my comfort zone for sure, but I am enjoying it. Next week the class is three times the size of the last one and we have added three dates and venues to the schedule.

Who has time for writing??

I really long for time to write. I know I have always been a proponent of giving up on the “busy drug” that is so rampant in today’s world. Truthfully, I do not do well when I am this busy and have no down time to wallow in words both written and read. I need to play with fabric and nap on a regular basis. So, this morning while driving into the office, I promised myself that I will start the rewrites on my second book by August 1st! That gives me a few weeks to get things in order and hopefully work and home life will calm down a bit.

Dear Muse,
Don’t give up on me yet!
